Philips OM Hybrid modules
Main problem with 2955/2955A sets is the failure of one or more Philips OM series hybrid amplifiers which are now obsolete and hard to find. When they fail, you can get several problems, as low output power, lack of sensitivity and so on. Please, check my Marconi 2955A page for some info about OM modules location and related failures.
OM modules used on each model are these:

- OM-345 or OM-2045 (4 units)
- OM-350 or OM-2050 (3 units)
- OM-360 or OM-360L (output power amplifier, 1 unit)

Philips OM Hybrid modules FOR SALE
OM-345 are specially prone to cause problems. My unit had a couple bad!. Searching for parts to fix my unit, I have located some extra Philips OM-2045 modules, which are the perfect substitute for the OM-345. I have the extra ones for sale. Good thing is that you won't have minimum quantity to buy (as is the case with most obsolete IC suppliers)
UPDATE (31-March-2006): I have arranged a 'kit', composed of 2 OM-2045 and 2 OM-350 for an special price. This will fix most of the 2955 OM-related failures.
UPDATE (31-March-2007): I have got an small stock of OM-2050 (OM-350 upgraded sub) and OM-2045 (OM-345 upgraded sub). I have got also some flybacks. Please, e-mail me for details about these.
UPDATE (23-June-2007): I have got some OM-370L output power amplifiers.
Display tube FLYBACK or Line OutPut Transformer (LOPT)
UPDATE (31-March-2007): I have got a few flyback kits!. These kits are comprised of a new flyback transformer (with improved specifications), an adaptor PCB to exactly fit old flyback pattern, a couple improved components and detailed instructions to install the kit. These are Marconi designed kits and have been used successfully in several units.

IMPORTANT: These flybacks are of the right type; in the picture you can see that there are similar ones, with cable output in vertical. They are not physically compatible and need some mechanical work to make them barely fit in a 2955. So be sure to get the correct one, which is plug and play.
