This page is devoted to the repair of my Icom IC-756 PRO (first model).

I got it with a known fault, consisting of powering up always on TX due to some damage in the ACC1 connector area.

Unit came in original box, with manual, hand mic and cable.

Repair work

Once cleaned with alcohol damage seems a bit nicer:

The burned PCB is highly conductive, so it should be removed.... yes, you can see a hole in the PCB!:

Once all the carbon has been removed, checking the Service Manual (available online in a number of WEBs), I redid all the missing traces and added a couple components (a coil and a capacitor) which were damaged:

Once PCB is back to the rig, it looks like this:

Once the rig was assembled, it worked at first attempt!. I even got some RTTY decode:
